Last week Macho Maintenance completed a remote freight delivery to York Landing, Manitoba.
The trip took us from Winnipeg to Thompson and across the ferry into York Landing to deliver much-needed freight to the community.
Many people don't realize how challenging northern logistics can be. Last year, low water levels forced the ferry to shut down, leaving communities with limited transportation options and increasing reliance on air freight.
This trip was a reminder of how important these transportation routes are. What might seem like a simple delivery in the city becomes a major logistical operation in Northern Manitoba.
From highway driving, ferry crossings, freight handling, and remote community access roads, every kilometre matters when serving communities that don't always have the same transportation options as southern Manitoba.
We're proud to support northern and First Nation communities by helping move supplies where they're needed.
