Is a solid-color epoxy floor perfect?
No—and that’s important to understand before choosing this type of finish.
We work extremely hard to control the environment during installation: thorough surface preparation, cleaning, vacuuming, and careful application. However, epoxy is installed in a real-world environment, not a laboratory.
A tiny piece of dust, a pet hair, or another small airborne particle can occasionally settle into the coating while it cures.
With solid-color epoxy, these minor imperfections can also be more noticeable because the floor has a smooth, uniform appearance. In general, a small level of cosmetic variation—approximately 3–5%—may be considered acceptable depending on the project, specification, and viewing conditions.
The goal of a professional epoxy installation is a durable, functional, and beautiful floor—not an absolutely flawless surface under every lighting condition or viewing angle.
