Here’s a brittle elm tree we removed last summer. It was in a tight spot growing over the house and into a healthy walnut tree.

These overextended limbs break easily. It’s all in the teamwork!

Here’s a fun little job we did last week. This maple tree had a limb tear out long ago and left a large hollow cavity (about 15 feet). The top was dying and leaning towards the neighbour’s house with very little tension wood holding it in place.

The picture angle does not show very well, but right where it twists and leans in completely hollow.

We put our ropes in the adjacent oak tree to support my weight and keep the rigging dynamics off the decrepit maple. The job went smoothly and we got some great firewood out of it as well. It’s always a pleasure working in the tall forest trees of Lasalle.
