There is only one way to use up a randomly gifted beast of a cucumber around here at this time of year.
Gotta love unexpected blessings! Maybe I’m weird, but I don’t mind canning a few jars here and there as good deals come my way. You might even say I find it therapeutic. 🤷🏼‍♀️❤️🥒

Cowboy candy! I am so freakin happy with this project. It has been many years of trial and error in both trying to grow enough peppers for this project, as well as testing out different varieties of peppers, different brines, etc. All with the hope of getting to this stage.

In another 4 weeks, we’ll know if we took a step forwards or sideways. As with all journeys worth going on, time and patience are key. ❤️

Finally had some time to try my hand at ciabatta bread. After some trial and error, we are making progress!

Loving my candy cane peppers! I have two plants in a 10 gallon grow bag, as I had anticipated one of them not making it. So I figured I’d save space and could simply trim the one back should it perish.
It did not.
So my peppers are a bit smaller than I may have hoped - needed to thin them out and make room! However I’m still obsessed with the colouring. The are a bit sweeter than a regular green bell, which is also nice.

I rescued this extremely odd shaped pepper from work. Customers kept pushing it off to the side so it came home with me and went into our cucumber salad. I’ve seen fasciation in tomatoes but this was a first in my pepper travels. Nature is so neat!

My variegated varieties of the season are Jigsaw and Candy Cane. They’ve been a bit slow to get started but with all those flower buds looking ready to go, I have faith these guys will give me some excellent eats!

This is my first year growing a super hot. Do I know what I’m going to do with them? Kind of. Lol! I’ll be fermenting most of my hot peppers to make some sauces (more on that soon!) but Jiggy will probably be dried and made into a powder. I am nowhere near the tolerance threshold to mess with these yet (2ish MILLION SHU) - but I also reserve the right to one day make a poor life choice. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
