Transitional Housing Worker Employment Opportunity
8-week Summer Student position for ages 30 years old or younger
Organization Overview: Soaring Eagle Support Society (SESS) is a registered charity dedicated to providing housing stability opportunities to people who have hard-to-house circumstances.
Job Description: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Transitional Housing Worker is responsible for serving as a team member to provide dignity promotion and program assistance to 30 residents and several outreach clients.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
• Assist residents with move in, move out and room check tasks.
• Provide front office community tasks.
• Connect residents with various community support services.
• Supervise activities & ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Help organize, store and distribute donations.
• Create posters and give notice for resident program activities.
• Support indoor and outdoor resident chores.
• Participate in Duck Derby fundraiser event preparations.
• Assist maintenance worker with facility repairs.
• Complete program logs and client activity notes.
Qualifications:
• Applying a compassionate & positive demeanor.
• Communicating clearly and inclusively.
• Working independently in a reliable manner.
• Using cultural and social competence skills.
• Familiarity with a variety of mental and physical disabilities.
• Computer skills
• Understanding charity operations and governance is an asset.
This position is 37.5 hours a week. The salary is $19/hour.
