So, I am officially closing down the Budding Gems brick-and-mortar location.

And that's okay.

I'm feeling a little emotional about it, but I think that's because I cared. I put a lot of heart, soul, passion, time, energy, and love into this project.

What started as something to keep me busy during COVID while my travel career was temporarily sidelined turned into something I never could have imagined. I've met incredible people, worked with amazing kids, built wonderful relationships, shared a lot of gardening knowledge, and learned far more than I ever expected along the way.

It has been challenging. It has been rewarding. It has been an adventure.

But the truth is, Budding Gems did exactly what it was supposed to do.

It connected me with my community, allowed me to share something I love, created opportunities I never would have had otherwise, and proved that sometimes it's worth taking a chance on an idea.

These days, I've happily returned to the travel industry, another career I genuinely love, and I'm excited about where that path is taking me.

The website will remain online, and you may still see the occasional post from me, but things will be pretty quiet around here moving forward.

To everyone who attended a workshop, bought a plant, trusted me with a garden project, sent their child to a program, stopped by the shop, or simply followed along—thank you.

I'm incredibly grateful for the support and for the opportunity to share this adventure with all of you.

Happy gardening, everyone. 🌱

Last summer’s sunflowers, still pulling their weight 🌻

This morning I cracked open dried sunflower heads, sorted seeds, and enjoyed the slow gardening.

No pressure. No rush.

Why seed saving just makes sense:

• Ecological 🌱
• Cost-effective 💸
• Easy + regenerative 🔄

Old flowers. New beginnings.

Stay tuned—these seeds are going places.

Lupins are my flower. Full stop.

I literally planned my last PEI trip around lupine season… and then got them tattooed on my leg while I was there 🌸 so yes, I think it’s safe to say this love runs deep.

So here we are—starting lupins from seed early early because they’ve always been a little tricky for me.

Maybe I’m too fussy.
Maybe I need to chill.

Maybe I need to accept that I don’t actually live on a windswept red-rock island in PEI 😌 who’s to say.

BUT. These seeds have officially germinated. They’ve woken up. And now they’re being lovingly babied under the lights, getting tiny misty baths like the delicate little drama queens they are.

I am determined.
I am committed.

I WILL become the Lupine Lady.

🎸 Turn it up — the greens are ROCKING!

These trays?
Pure winter chaos in the best way.

Microgreens grow FAST, look wild, and are wildly satisfying — especially when the ground is frozen solid and you’re basically living inside a snow globe.

No garden? No problem.
No experience? Even better.

Microgreens are the perfect way to tiptoe into gardening, build confidence, and grow something lush right now.

And yes — I’m teaching all of this.

👉 All new microgreens content + the course will drop in my newsletter first.

If you want early access, behind-the
-scenes growing tips, and first dibs on launches — get on the list.

Easy peasy sign-up on my website.

I got you.

Let’s grow some microgreens together. 🤘

This season I’m in my experimental era.

Coco coir. H**p mats. Clay pebbles. Perlite.

Mixing mediums, testing methods, breaking imaginary garden rules just to see what actually works.

Gardening isn’t about doing it right — it’s about doing it your way.

Try the thing. Change it up. Learn as you grow.

That’s literally the whole point 🌿✨

Microgreens: easy to grow, quick to flex.

Miss a watering and suddenly things get… dramatic.

Keep them hydrated, give them a little daily love, and they’ll be very good to you 💚
