Perfect pool finishes start with perfect details.

In this reel, I’m cutting the aluminum liner track for our custom ICF pool using my Makita Canada Inc. compound miter saw fitted with a Diablo Tools aluminum cutting blade. Every inside and outside corner is measured, cut, and fitted to create tight, seamless joints before the liner is installed.

Clean mitres, precise cuts, and taking the extra time to get every corner right are what separate a good install from a great one.

The little details always make the biggest difference.

There’s more to installing pool lights than simply snapping a light into the wall.

In this build, I’m installing Hayward ColorLogic LED lights, but the process starts long before the liner goes in.

First, I use a simple vacuum trick to pull a string line through the conduit so it becomes a fish line for the new wiring back to the Hayward Omni control panel. Once Vinyl Masters installs the liner, they precisely cut the light openings, install the faceplates and hardware, and then we fish the new ColorLogic lights into place.

It's one of those jobs that looks easy when it's finished—but every step has to be done right to avoid leaks, damaged liners, or wiring issues down the road.

The small details are what make a professional installation.

A flawless finish starts long before the final coat of paint.

This is Step 1—spray priming the installed crown molding with my Graco sprayer. Spraying gives a consistent, even base coat that reaches every profile and detail without brush marks.

But this is only the beginning.

The process from here:
✔️ Spray primer
✔️ Sand everything smooth
✔️ Fix every imperfection
✔️ Prime again
✔️ Final sanding
✔️ Finish with the topcoat

The prep work is what separates an average paint job from a finish that looks like it came from the factory. Stay tuned as I take this crown molding from raw wood to a flawless finished product.
