WHAT TO DO IF YOUR BASEMENT HAS FLOODED
If you have water in your basement, please take these steps:
⚡ Electrical safety comes first. If the water has reached outlets, appliances or electrical equipment, do not enter the water. Only shut off the power if you can safely reach the panel without stepping into water.
📸 Take photos and videos of the water level, affected areas and damaged contents.
🚿 If you suspect a sewer backup, limit the use of toilets, showers, washing machines and dishwashers.
📞 Contact your insurance company to report the loss.
🗑️ Don’t throw damaged contents away or start removing flooring or walls until everything has been documented.
