I recently swapped out a 1978 electric furnace for a modern model. Big shout out to Dylan at Wilson Electrical for making sure the electric circuit feeding the furnace meets code!

I wanted to share a review I received via email.

Jason at Okanagan Prime HVAC installed a new natural gas hot water heater in my house and did a great job, especially in handling all the details of making sure I got what I needed as well as what I wanted. Thanks Jason! From; Robert Nicholson

Happy New Year Everyone!!

As we enter a new year, it’s a good time to check your home’s smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. These lifesaving devices should be tested, dusted and have the batteries checked/replaced regularly. This is also a good time to make sure your detectors have not expired (they’re usually good for 10 years). All specifics can be found on the manufacturer’s decaling on the unit.

After having one beep at me at 2am with a low battery, I have gotten into the habit of changing the batteries once a year. I have found the easiest time for me to remember to do this is at New Years.

The Kelowna Fire Dept has a great video with some more info:

Paul Johnson from Kelowna Fire Hall #1 explains what you need to know about smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and how to maintain them. For more information a...

Happy Holidays Everyone!

12/22/2022

Hello everyone! I wanted to make a post to introduce myself. My name is Jason Morash. I am an HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) professional with over 10 years of residential and light commercial experience but more importantly I am a husband and father of two amazing kids!

I started Okanagan Prime HVAC to be able to provide exceptional and personable service to my customers while ensuring their heating and cooling equipment is kept in peak operating condition.
Some of the services I provide are:

- Breakdown repairs on Furnaces, Fireplaces, hot water tanks, heat pumps and air conditioners
- Service and Maintenance on Furnaces, Fireplaces, HRV’s, hot water tanks, heat pumps and air conditioners
- Installation of hot water tanks, humidifiers and thermostats (including wifi ones)

Please don’t hesitate to ask about a service if you need something that is not mentioned. I am just starting out so there are some services that I will be providing in the future!

With the extreme cold weather we have been having if you haven’t checked/replaced your equipment’s air filter (furnace filter) in the last few months now would be a good time to do so. Generally a 1 inch filter should be replaced every 2-3 months and a 4-5 inch filter is usually good for 6-12 months. A busy household with more people and/or pets will require more frequent filter changes.

I hope everyone is staying warm and has a wonderful holiday season!
