MCH Group Inc, previously known as Maisons Chicoine Homes, incorporated in 2012. The company was started by two self-made brothers, Jake and Ben, who started working in the construction industry at the age of 16 and taught themselves building science and the importance of building for a purpose. MCH was born out of a determination and passion to build energy efficient structures for generations to

come and high quality craftsmanship. Their sister Karina, joined them in 2015 as financial manager. MCH is now a well-established design-build firm located in the heart of the Gatineau Hills in Eastern Canada, in the province of Quebec. The company is composed of highly skilled carpenters, designers, and innovative thinkers. MCH has partnered with leading architects such as Douglas Cardinal from Canada, Bjarke Ingels Group from Denmark and more.

The real work starts before the first panel is set.

This residential project combines ICF walls, mass timber beams and a CLT roof assembly that will ultimately support a green roof.

With hybrid structures like this, successful installation depends on careful coordination between systems — from connections and tolerances to sequencing, crane picks and site logistics.

The more that is resolved before installation begins, the smoother the work becomes once the components arrive on site.

Ce projet résidentiel combine des murs en coffrage isolant (ICF), des poutres en bois massif et une toiture en panneaux CLT qui accueillera éventuellement une toiture végétalisée.

Dans une structure hybride comme celle-ci, la réussite de l’installation repose sur une coordination rigoureuse des connexions, des tolérances, du séquençage, des levages et de la logistique de chantier.

Looking back at the Cantilever Home with Dawson Architecture, we're reminded that solving complex construction challenges has been part of our story from the beginning.

Cantilevered bridges and decks. Reclaimed beams from older buildings. Renovation constraints. Site logistics. And countless details requiring careful craftsmanship and coordination.

Years later, the scale and methods of our work have evolved, but the approach remains familiar: understand the complexity, plan for it, and find a way to build it well.

We're grateful to Dawson Architecture for these words — and for trusting our team with a project that continues to remind us where we came from.

Complex problems have always been our kind of project.

En repensant à la Maison Cantilever réalisée avec Dawson Architecture, nous nous rappelons que la résolution de défis de construction complexes fait partie de notre histoire depuis le début.

Structures en porte-à-faux. Poutres récupérées. Contraintes de rénovation. Logistique de chantier. Et une multitude de détails nécessitant savoir-faire et coordination.

Les projets et nos méthodes ont évolué depuis, mais notre approche reste la même : comprendre la complexité, la planifier et trouver la meilleure façon de construire.

What happens when prefabricated walls arrive on site?

A successful install starts long before the first panel is lifted.

01 — Plan
Installation sequence, panel locations, connections and site logistics are coordinated before delivery.

02 — Load
Panels are bundled and loaded according to the installation sequence, so the right components are accessible at the right time.

03 — Deliver
Panels arrive ready to install, with much of the framing and assembly already completed in our facility.

04 — Install
Each panel is lifted, positioned, braced and connected.

05 — Repeat
Panel by panel, the building takes shape.

The result? Less work in the field and a more predictable installation.

Every company has a story. Ours started with two brothers who simply wanted to build better.

Before Fab Structures, there were years of experimenting, learning, travelling and asking one simple question:

"Is there a better way to build?"

That question led Jake and Ben from rammed earth and timber framing, to discovering passive house and off-site construction in Europe, to importing CLT before a North American supply chain even existed.

Fifteen years later, we're still asking that same question.

The technology has changed.
The projects have grown.
The factory has expanded.

But our mindset hasn't.

Chaque entreprise a une histoire. La nôtre a commencé avec deux frères qui voulaient simplement construire autrement.

Bien avant Fab Structures, Jake et Ben ont exploré la construction en terre crue, la charpente en bois, les panneaux SIP et bien d'autres approches, toujours avec la même question en tête :

Blast from the Past.

Some projects leave a lasting impression—not just because of what was built, but because of what they taught us.

Back in 2019, we had the privilege of collaborating with renowned Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal on the Cardinal House, a high-performance prefabricated home built for the Elsipogtog First Nation community in New Brunswick.

It was one of our earliest prefabricated projects and an opportunity to work alongside , our mass timber partner, to prefabricate and deliver the structural components of the building.

Looking back, it's incredible to see how many of the principles that define Fab Structures today were already taking shape: thoughtful design, off-site manufacturing, collaboration, and building for long-term performance.

Some projects don't just become part of your portfolio—they help shape who you become.

Retour dans le temps.

Certains projets nous marquent durablement, non seulement par le résultat obtenu, mais aussi par tout ce qu'ils nous ont appris.

En 2019, nous avons eu le privilège de collaborer avec le célèbre architecte canadien Douglas Cardinal à la réalisation de la Maison Cardinal, une résidence préfabriquée haute performance construite pour la communauté d'Elsipogtog First Nation, au Nouveau-Brunswick.

Il s'agissait de l'un de nos premiers projets en préfabrication et d'une belle collaboration avec , notre partenaire en bois massif, avec qui nous avons préfabriqué les composantes structurales du bâtiment.

En regardant ce projet aujourd'hui, nous réalisons à quel point il a contribué à façonner les principes qui guident encore notre travail : une conception réfléchie, la préfabrication, la collaboration et des bâtiments conçus pour durer.

Certains projets ne s'ajoutent pas seulement à un portfolio… ils contribuent à définir l'entreprise que l'on devient.

Quality doesn't happen by accident.

The real advantage of prefabrication isn't just building in a factory—it's having more opportunities to get it right.

Through design coordination, BIM modelling, clash detection, and quality checks throughout production, we identify and resolve issues long before components reach the jobsite.

Does that mean mistakes never happen? Of course not.

The difference is having systems that catch them early—long before they become costly delays on site.

That's the real power of prefabrication.

La qualité ne se crée pas par hasard.

Le véritable avantage de la préfabrication ne réside pas seulement dans la fabrication en usine, mais dans le fait d'avoir davantage d'occasions de bien faire les choses.

Grâce à la coordination de la conception, à la modélisation BIM, à la détection des conflits et aux contrôles de qualité réalisés tout au long de la production, nous identifions et résolvons les problèmes bien avant que les composantes n'arrivent sur le chantier.

Recently, reached out after their framing subcontractor unexpectedly became unavailable. With permit in hand and a schedule to maintain, they needed a solution—fast.

Within two weeks, our team had designed, manufactured, and delivered the first-floor exterior wall panels, allowing the project to stay on track.

The wall system included:
✔ Framing
✔ Sheathing
✔ 3" wood fibre insulation
✔ Weather barrier
✔ Strapping

Depending on your project, we can manufacture anything from framing-only wall panels to fully integrated wall systems with factory-installed windows.

Designed for the North. Built for community.

We're excited to share our new project ; a six-bedroom transitional housing for the Constance Lake First Nation community in Hearst, Ontario.

With a short construction season and limited site access, every day on site counts. To accelerate installation, we're integrating windows, Hardie® cladding, interior birch plywood finishes, and electrical conduits directly into our prefabricated wall assemblies before they leave our facility.

The images shared here capture the project's progression—from early renderings and the first panels produced in our facility to bundle preparation and loading for transport north.

Beyond performance, this project is about creating a safe and welcoming place to call home, where natural wood interiors help foster comfort, well-being, and a connection to nature.
