Just an FYI: I'm flying solo temporarily and juggling my councillor duties at the same time. After the 28th all will be business as usual. In the meantime, please be patient with this old man...I'm like a one-armed paper hanger with one foot nailed to the floor.
Please make sure your furnace is winter ready! Change filters, give it a little test run (if you haven't already), and make note of any weird sounds. Check up season is coming up.

It will be interesting to see what the next few weeks/months will bring, but one thing is guaranteed: economic instability, fuel price Increases. Every. Single. Time.
Now is not a time to freak out, but it is a time to be patient, realistic and frugal.
That being said, my truck/trailer combo burns 33 litres/100 kms. Short of eating gold nuggets for breakfast, that's my biggest expense. My twice weekly jaunts to the big city for equipment will likely change to once a week, maybe twice a month depending on how high the prices go on Monday. It's business as usual, but there might be some small delays due to delivery strategies and possibly equipment price Increases (though I'll jump off THAT bridge when I get to it). In the meantime,hoping you'll all work with me, and frankly any other small business that is trying to muddle through this next challenge. Our priority is still great service, and survival for the next job that comes along. Fingers crossed, folks!

Thinking about a new furnace and/or air conditioner? Might be time to stop procrastinating and put those plans in action! I'm your local official Rheem dealer and they've announced a price increase of up to 10% starting June 23rd. This will be for both commercial and residential products.

Holy wind, Batman! Hopefully it'll die down before the snow flies, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyhoo, another snow event means another chance for it to drift up against your exhaust and intakes on your house. Keep an eye on them to make sure they're clear and free of ice, too. Your furnace (and your furnace guy) will thank you.

A big part of my business is replacing parts. Just like a car, continuous use wears parts down and they eventually need replacing. Inducer fans, blowers, pressure switches and control boards are the usual suspects.
If you're thinking about purchasing a new furnace for your home, get a clear understanding of what your new furnace warranty covers, and get a ballpark quote on what those four parts might cost you past warranty replacement. There is a WIDE range of pricing on all of them; they shock the s@ #$ out of me on a daily basis. Knowing those costs might help you select the right furnace for your home AND your budget.
