Thinking about a new furnace and/or air conditioner? Might be time to stop procrastinating and put those plans in action! I'm your local official Rheem dealer and they've announced a price increase of up to 10% starting June 23rd. This will be for both commercial and residential products.
Don't take a chance, order soon. Tick tock, folks!

Holy wind, Batman! Hopefully it'll die down before the snow flies, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyhoo, another snow event means another chance for it to drift up against your exhaust and intakes on your house. Keep an eye on them to make sure they're clear and free of ice, too. Your furnace (and your furnace guy) will thank you.

A big part of my business is replacing parts. Just like a car, continuous use wears parts down and they eventually need replacing. Inducer fans, blowers, pressure switches and control boards are the usual suspects.
If you're thinking about purchasing a new furnace for your home, get a clear understanding of what your new furnace warranty covers, and get a ballpark quote on what those four parts might cost you past warranty replacement. There is a WIDE range of pricing on all of them; they shock the s@ #$ out of me on a daily basis. Knowing those costs might help you select the right furnace for your home AND your budget. Stay warm folks!

Well, that's a wrap for 2025...in my little world, anyway.
I'll be unavailable Christmas Eve to Monday, January 5, 2026.
Wishing you all a safe, warm and happy season. Play nice with the other kids, and I'll see you next year!

Well, here it is folks--winter in all its frost-bitten glory!
That being said, it's month end so please change your furnace filters (again, you say? YES), and check outside to make sure your intakes and vents are clear and free of drifted-in snow.
We've had a large influx of jobs lately, so we're in triage mode, making sure people have heat is our NUMBER ONE priority. If I've promised to stop buy and check your furnace or your temperamental fireplace, please bear with me as these issues take slightly less priority than no heat at all.
Stay warm, kids!

A couple of things...first (and yes, I missed the beginning of the month) keep those furnace filters fresh, kids. They don't have to be expensive, but they should be changed monthly. It's getting cold, but southern Alberta is a dustbowl until the snow flies. Second, if you have A/C, have the power shut off to the outdoor unit. Third, daylight savings approaches. That means change your batteries in your smoke detectors, C0 detectors and thermostats. A battery is soooo much cheaper than calling me and hear me saying "hey, did you change your batteries at daylight savings time? No? Did you read my post??" The humiliation is a painful price to pay. Just sayin. Stay warm folks!

Hey Milo! I'll be in your area tomorrow if you need an old guy to sneak a peek at your furnace, A/C and points in between.

If you watched Global tonight, you heard that the on-again, off-again tariffs are finally a reality.
Sucks.
Anyhoo, I will aspire to due diligence and investigate any and all avenues that avoid the situation, but steel is tantamount in Canada-US trade, and furnaces, A/C units, and hot water heaters contain A LOT of this particular product, and this could be a s@ #$ show. Current estimates are good for 15 days...please don't procrastinate. And if you've been debating changing out any one of these three items, please give me a call and let's get 'er done. Stay cool, kids!

New month, new filter! Just a reminder, A/C people, that a clean filter every month helps optimize keeping cool in the hot weather. Not that July was all that hot, but August could prove to be a little steamer. Filters are cheap, maintenance not so much.
