Security and monitoring for boats. At Barnacle Systems, we make products that are beautiful, secure, and easy to use.

BRNKL by Barnacle Systems is like a Smart Home for your boat. BRNKL gives your boat a voice by connecting sensors to your boat's critical components such as bilge and batteries. As an added bonus the BRNKL has a built-in camera, providing additional security and verification of alerts. The BRNKL connects to the cloud via a cellular connection and streams data directly to your smart phone or tablet to provide status updates or alerts. It's the perfect blend of security and monitoring to protect your boat. Benefit from status updates and alerts from your boat whether you're at the dock or halfway around the world through the free BRNKL app.

Log impacts in real time. With the right data, you can see what happened, when it happened, and understand the conditions around it.

BRNKL Black captures critical vessel data in real time — giving operators a clearer picture of what’s happening on board and how the vessel is performing.

Reach out to [email protected] for an in-depth look at BRNKL’s interface, features and integrations — and how we can best support your unique needs.

The best days on the water are rarely just about the boat. They’re about the places you go — with the people who matter.

We’re grateful for the people and places that make time on the water worth remembering.

Happy Thanksgiving from BRNKL! 🇨🇦

“I remember when you guys were just getting started.”

We heard that a few times at COAST Demo Day in Victoria last month.

And honestly? It was great to remember how far we have come since we first started in 2017.

From our early days as a Victoria startup building boat security systems.

To now: reshaping vessel monitoring for recreational, commercial and defence applications in 40+ countries across the globe.

Thanks to COAST - Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies for bringing the ocean tech community together! We'll see you at the next one.

Join us October 6-8th at the Tampa Convention Center for IBEX - International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference.

On Vancouver Island, First Nations are helping shape the future of ocean technology.

We’ve seen that firsthand through our work with First Nations communities, including Snuneymuxw, T’Sou-ke, Tsawout, Sc’ianew, Tsartlip and Malahat Nations.

Together with Cando and the Canadian Coast Guard, we’ve supported hands-on training and deployment of BRNKL Rapid Deploy to help First Nations communities monitor and manage Wrecked, Abandoned and Hazardous Vessels in their traditional waters.

This is only one example of what can happen when technology, Indigenous knowledge and environmental stewardship come together.

Trade show season is well underway, and we're excited to see what this year brings in marine technology.

There is a lot changing — from smarter onboard systems to better ways of monitoring the health and safety of vessels, crews, and fleets.

What new boat tech do you have your eye on this season? 👀

We'll be in Dallas from September 28 - October 2 at the NMEA Conference and Expo, ready to chat all things marine electronics — including how BRNKL can help monitor and secure your vessels.
