Check this out...it is AMAZING!
This is innovative design at it's best, created from an small transport container, it shows the versatility of up-cycling, transforming something unwanted into truly functional art.
This piece is created in CAD, a computer program I worked in for years when designing & configuring trade show booths, I loved the process of building in three D from the ground up....it almost felt like magic!
But I digress, this is still a fantastic idea, regardless of what program it's built it!

This is a very interesting documentary...well worth the watch.
Filmed over nearly three years, WASTE LAND follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys from his home base in Brooklyn to his native Brazil and the world's largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho, located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro.
Muniz's went to photograph an eclectic band of "catadores" - or self-designated pickers of recyclable materials, with the initial objective to "paint" the catadores with garbage. However, as time passed, the story becomes a more emotional journey depicting these inspiring characters as they recreate photographic images of themselves out of garbage. It reveals both the dignity and despair of the catadores, offering stirring evidence of the transformative power of art and the alchemy of the human spirit.

Yet again innovation at its best! I love seeing things like this...not rocket science, just simple small changes that really anyone can take on, just seeing things differently can make all the difference!!

Just a few pictures of the wonderful launch on Friday night! Even though it was cold outside many braved the weather to attend the launch of The League of Extraordinary Designers! The beer flowed, the music played, people danced and the venders showed their wonderful works of art, all produced from up-cycled and re-purposed materials. Extraordinary artists.....wonderful evening!
