Completed last year, qʷɫaʔəléutxʷ (Camas House) is the first member housing built on Songhees reserve land since 2005.
Working closely with Songhees Nation, and with support from CMHC, BC Housing and the CRD, we we developed and constructed 66 affordable, purpose-built rental homes for Nation members.
The building’s exterior features a mural by Songhees Nation artist Tulsimiyē (Eva George), creating a landmark rooted in cultural storytelling.
“In each of these symbols—the wolf, eagle, mountains, moon, sunset and bear—we find reminders of strength, unity, resilience and personal growth. Together, they inspire us to embrace life’s challenges with courage, determination and a deep respect for the journey ahead.”—Tulsimiyē (Eva George)
It was a privilege to support the development of these new homes—a project by Songhees Nation, for Songhees Nation.
