A little breathing room for these crowded garden beds

The shrubs had grown into each other, so the goal was to create some space and tidy things up while keeping plenty of green growth. Careful trimming helped define each shrub without cutting too far back into the bare, woody areas.

Looking much tidier, with room to see and enjoy the individual plants again!

If your gardens could use a cleanup, send Summit Property Services a message. Happy to help!

Final deck of the season. This late in the year the deck had to be tarped to prevent dew.

Just finished up this 2 day property cleanup in North Saanich. Unfortunately, I forgot to take before photos—it was an hourly job—but took this one mid way through. This job had a bit of everything, including 3 hedges trimmed, shrubs trimmed, shrub transplanting, garden bed weeding, and mulch installation.

Always nice to be called back by a returning customer.

This front yard had become quite overgrown, with the larger trees starting to hide the entrance and the smaller shrubs losing their shape. I trimmed and reshaped the trees, cleaned up the shrubs, opened up the entrance, and gave the garden beds a fresh tidy-up.

A big improvement in curb appeal and a great way to get the property looking sharp before it hits the market.

Deck restoration completed for a returning customer!

Both decks had a significant amount of old, flaking finish, so they required heavy sanding and thorough prep before applying the new stain.

The process included:

* Pressure washing and cleaning
* Heavy sanding to remove loose and flaking finish
* Two coats of solid stain

Garden cleanup wrapped up

Finished trimming and shaping the shrubs and hedges, cleaning up the garden beds, and getting everything looking tidy again.

Next up at this property: prepping and staining approximately 630 sq. ft. of decking.

Always satisfying seeing a property come together piece by piece.

A big transformation on this property this week.

The front garden areas were thoroughly weeded and cleaned up, overgrown grass and unwanted growth were removed, the large evergreens and shrubs were trimmed and reshaped, and the garden beds were cleaned up and redefined. Fresh mulch was then installed throughout to give everything a cleaner, more finished look.

We also refreshed the exterior stairs and 2 front doorway/entry areas with Shark Skin solid stain, bringing the wood back to a much cleaner and more uniform finish. The remaining black trim will be completed on our next dry-weather visit.

This cedar hedge was quite overgrown, so the goal was to bring it back into shape without cutting too deep into the old growth. With cedars, it’s important to leave healthy green foliage — cutting back into bare brown wood can leave permanent dead spots that may not fill back in.

A careful trim keeps the hedge looking clean, full, and healthy while improving the overall look of the property.
