Similar to humans, plants not only need to drink water, but also eat food (meaning absorbing nutrients). Feeding your plants can be done in two ways: Organic and inorganic.
What to use:
Organic nutrients are fertilizers such as fish or kelp based products such as Alaskan Fish Fertilizer and Growth Plus. Also any compost or manure teas are easy to make.
Inorganic nutrients are derived from salt based products such as Miracle Grow or any 2 part nutrient solution that you can pick up at any gardening store.
Remember when adding your nutrients that less is better.

Parts for the Vertical Urban Garden.

Once your garden is hung on a wall and ready to go. The next step would be to plant it.
3 options that I recommend are:
(1) Washing off the dirt of existing plants that you may come across at a grocery store or nursery and immediately transfer to the vertical garden.
(2) Taking cuttings and root them in a glass of water or any other way. Once roots are established, transfer to the vertical garden.
(3) Grow from seed. Start seeds in a peat pellet or rockwool and once roots appear, transfer to the vertical garden.

The first option is the fast way to establish a garden.
