Responsibilities & Expectations:

- Exercise safe work practices and procedures
- Safely operate various hand, power, and air tools
- Work efficiently both on your own and as a team
- Safely and efficiently measure, cut, assemble, and install various construction materials including but not limited to: lumber, plywood, concrete, reinforcement, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and shop drawings an asset
- Maintain our core values

Qualifications:

- Experience in carpentry required
- Experience in concrete formwork an asset
- Certifications (First Aid, Fall Arrest, etc.) an asset

The team at KCW had the privilege of working on the Okanagan College Trades Facility in Vernon, a recent recipient of a commercial building of the year award in the institutional category. KCW completed the 130 m3 concrete foundation and interior wood frame construction. The project was completed with zero lost time incidents and on schedule!

*OSHA Update* - Feb 5th

OSHA is implementing new rules for silica dust. Read more on these changes here:

OSHA’s new standard on exposure to respirable crystalline silica went into effect. The rule lowered the allowable exposure to the harmful substance to 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
