Clean air has a dirty little secret: with all this smoke and ash we've been having, the equipment doing the cleaning needs a little attention.
This call started with a blower loud enough that the homeowner shut the system down.
Devin traced the noise back to an electronic air-cleaner filter so packed with dust that it was restricting airflow through the entire system.
Testing the blower with and without the filter produced an immediate change in amp draw, airflow and sound. The motor and AC checked out.
This air cleaner had been working hard for too long.
These filters help capture dust and airborne particles before they keep cycling through the home.
The UV lights add another layer of protection inside the system, but their effectiveness also declines as the bulbs age, even when they still appear to be working.
A fresh Clean Air Defense bulb kit was approved to help get the full indoor air quality system back to work.
Because cleaner air isn’t one shiny add-on. It’s a system, and the combined pieces are what keep it pulling its weight. 🌬️
If it’s been a while since anyone checked yours, consider this your gentle, slightly ashy reminder.
