Looking for a shop manager, Yes that's right a shop manager!

The mission for this role is to manage and clean all equipment and materials for technicians to be able to minimize any downtime and equipment breakage to fulfill their work.

A recent anonymous survey of our staff gave the company a rating of 4.5 out of 5 on employee satisfaction.
We are growing and looking for serious individuals who are looking for a long term relationship. We work year long.
If you like touching all things construction and have talent for it, we are looking for individuals who can do a patch of drywall, paint, install laminate and frame. Our technicians have the capacity to do all the basics of construction and usually have a specialty such as ceramics or carpets.
50% of what we do is emergency response and the other 50% is small contracts in those same locations. You will be working in school boards, hospitals Airports, governments (Parliament Hill, City of Ottawa and Ottawa Housing)
Xpertek has 3 owners between the age of 40 and 45. The company has over 30 employees and has been established for over 15 years. The Owners have kids and understand family obligations and value balance in life.
95% of our work in within the city of Ottawa. Our office is in Vars ON.
A drivers license and a clean criminal check is required. Experience in Restoration and security clearance is an asset.

Responsibilities and Duties

Repair and re-install building components such as baseboard, drywall, door, suspended ceilings and flooring
Specialized demolition of building components
Support our On-Call service. Once every 5 weeks, you will be on call to respond to building emergencies such as a flood in a hospital, board up a window at a school as examples.
Typically our technicians are able to do all the basic construction requirements and have a specialty themselves (like ceramic, framing, finish carpentry etc...)
Qualifications and Skills

Capacity to install drywall, plaster and framing, either residential or commercial (or both)
Should you have any other specialized skills such as (asbestos removal, mold remediation) those would be of added value.
