One of the easiest ways to create a winter disagreement is to leave the service scope open to interpretation. 📋
A resident may assume every stair, visitor stall, private walkway, side entrance, and internal path is included. The council may have approved a different scope. The contractor may be working from a property map that identifies only designated service areas.
Those differences should be settled before snow arrives.
Only Strata provides residential and strata snow removal that can include snow plowing, sidewalk clearing, shovelling, salting, de-icing, and ongoing winter maintenance depending on the contracted property plan. ✍️ The important part is making sure management understands exactly which areas belong to that plan.
A clear service scope also helps the strata communicate expectations to residents. It prevents the winter contract from turning into a list of assumptions after the first storm. 🧾
Before the season, review the property as the contractor will service it, not simply as residents experience it. That small distinction can prevent a surprising amount of confusion. 🔎🧩
