Model making! This is one of everyone’s favourite tools for sharing a design with project teams, stakeholders, and the community. This is one we did for Google in Sunnyvale, California. Swipe to see the finished building 👉👉👉

Congratulations to JEJU on being named in the MICHELIN Guide (official) this week!

Jeju is one of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver, and we’re honoured that it lives in a building we designed! Places like this, where people gather and share a meal and be part of their community, are exactly why we build them. We’re so thrilled for you.

Plus, lovely interiors by the very talented &Daughters👌

TEDxVictoria today! This year the theme was Uncharted and we were so inspired by the many incredible local speakers who shared their work with us.

Two of our highlights was listening to Jenny Farkas of Make Space For Art Society talk about just how big the creative economy is, and how we can support it (and be part of it!) And also Faraz Forghan-Parast on how to stay human. 🌎

A huge thanks to Marco Pimentel and the organizers, speakers and volunteers who make it all happen. We are always honoured to be a sponsor of this great event!

Michael Green is this year’s recipient of the inaugural METROPOLIS Magazine Planet Positive Visionary Award.

On this Deep Green podscat, he tells METROPOLIS Magazine editor Avinash Rajagopal where mass timber began and why wood still matters in how people experience buildings. “Nobody goes up and hugs a big concrete column.”

Our Catalyst building in Washington state brings students, researchers and companies under one roof in Spokane’s University District.

Designed to be the largest net-zero energy and net-zero carbon building in North America, and the first office building in Washington State constructed out of cross-laminated timber. Just out here breaking boundaries 🔨

The new Ronald McDonald House Willow is a go! The Government of British Columbia has committed $20 million to the project, bringing the Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon capital campaign to over $66 million toward its $100 million goal. The investment means construction can begin.

Willow House will add 75 long-stay suites for families of children being treated near BC Women’s & Children’s Hospital, doubling their capacity from the first house we built with them over a decade ago.

Congratulations to the RMHBCY team and every family that will call this new house their home during their stay.

How does a city like Paris lower its carbon footprint, building by building?

Our project in France, Flora, started with this question at COP21.

The answer is the first built project in a new district of Paris: 9 storeys in Nanterre, just west of La Défense.

Retail and offices animating the ground level, 88 homes above, including social housing through market rate, all wrapped in curving facades with views out across the city.

Working with the talented team at CALQ, we are excited to be part of the future of Paris.
