Our LunchBox Challenge continued with additional stops at Park West in North Vancouver and Foster Martin in White Rock. Between the two sites, we brought lunches to 355 people from two great local caterers, Smoke and Bones (N. Van) and Sheila’s Catering (White Rock). We are happy to be able to support local businesses while providing our teams with well-deserved delicious meals.

On Friday, we went to the Swiss Bakery right next door to our Second + Main project for our 3rd . They prepared 5 varieties of sandwiches on their incredible freshly baked breads for 150 hungry construction workers on site.

We feel privileged to have the opportunity to support some fantastic local restaurants while treating our hardworking site teams to a special lunch. We’re looking forward to the next stop.

It was a beautiful day for our second at the Vancouver Masonic Centre project. Slickity Jim's Chat & Choux, a regular lunch spot for our team, made delicious box lunches for the entire site crew at VMC. Everyone safely enjoyed their lunch break in the sun. We are proud to be supporting the wellbeing of the hardworking people in the construction and restaurant industries.

On Thursday, May 21st, 2020, Allan Beron, President of Urban One, will take part in a webinar on Leading Construction Teams Through a Pandemic. Jas Saraw of Procore Technologies will moderate the discussion with other industry leaders including Matthew Robinson, VP & Partner at Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Darin Hughes, President of Scott Construction Group, BC, ON & AB.

We will speak to the challenges faced and the solutions implemented to keep safety a priority while ensuring that our teams remain productive, informed and motivated to move projects forward. We will also cover the near-term impacts and long-term considerations that the construction industry as a whole is facing as we adjust to the new realities of operating during a pandemic.

Thank you to Seagate Mass Timber for nominating us for the . Urban One is proud to be a part of this industry wide initiative to spread cheer to the people who are working hard on construction sites and in our restaurants to keep BC's economy going. The entire site crew at our W17 project was treated to a gourmet box lunch prepared by Biercraft on Cambie Street. It was a great way to finish off NAOSH Week with everyone maintaining social distance and enjoying their lunches outside in the sun!

In the coming weeks, we will make our way to each of our job sites across the Lower Mainland with more delicious lunch boxes prepared by local restaurants. Next stop, the Vancouver Masonic Centre project!

Park West, a two-tower, mixed-use, residential neighbourhood with 258 luxury homes, is underway in North Vancouver. While a lot is happening below grade, the view from the bottom is nothing compared to the spectacular views to come as we build up to 19 and 23 storeys.
