One last golden ride before the season turns. You and your wife glide through Stanley Park on the Harley, the engine’s steady hum blending with the hush of autumn leaves. Sunlight filters through amber and crimson canopies. The air carries that cool, woodsy scent that only October brings. A horse-drawn carriage clops past, tourists smiling, cameras flashing, and for a moment it all feels timeless. You ride side by side, not saying much, not needing to. The city fades behind you, and all that matters is the shared rhythm of the road. The warmth between you, and the quiet promise of more rides to come.

Return to service of a Cleaver-Brooks boiler following annual inspection. Tubes cleaned, burner rebuilt and reinstalled, gas train reconnected and tested, safeties verified including low-water cutoff and gas pressure switches, controls reset, power restored under lockout procedure, leak testing completed, and startup completed per manufacturer specs for safe, reliable operation.”

Emergency radiant in-floor heating repair at a school after a glycol line failed and began leaking into a classroom.

We identified and isolated the affected heating loop, depressurized the system, located the damaged piping beneath the concrete, completed the repair, and pressure-tested the system for leaks. The loop was then refilled with the proper glycol mixture, purged of air, recommissioned, and safely returned to service.

Air compressors power the hidden muscles of a building. They run controls, actuators, and tools. Core parts are the pump, motor, tank, pressure switch, relief valve, and the air dryer that keeps moisture out. Safety devices prevent overpressure and overheating. And if the compressor’s off, pneumatic valves default open or shut, throwing systems out of balance. Simple gear, huge impact. [email protected]

Annual boiler open-ups expose the truth: tube condition, combustion quality, and critical safeguards. Under Technical Safety BC, pop safety valves, low water cutoffs, fuel train safeties, and the water column must be proven and documented. Inspect tubes, tune burners, repair refractory properly, then cure gently. Compliance plus diligence equals safety, efficiency, and long equipment life. [email protected]

At Brooklyn Heating and Gas, we specialize in commissioning and servicing high-performance boilers across brands like Cleaver-Brooks, IBC, and Viessmann. Every job starts with a full-system check: gas train, safety valves, low-water cutoffs, and high and low gas pressure switches. We verify safeties one by one, then dial in combustion for clean, efficient burn. Combustion analysis tells us if air, fuel, and draft are balanced. We fine-tune that gas valve so the system runs safe , stable, and code compliant. From startup to sign-off, it’s about protecting people, property, and performance. [email protected]

Frank from Brooklyn Heating & Gas breaks down how underground natural gas leaks are found and fixed. Learn where natural gas comes from, why distribution lines are buried, why depth can’t be assumed, and how tracer wire and professional gas detectors help pinpoint a leak. We also touch on the repair sequence. Locate, expose, isolate, repair with an approved polyethylene joining method, pressure test, and restore service. Safety first. Always call before you dig and rely on qualified gas professionals. [email protected]

When a brand new 2-inch gas regulator was installed on a large commercial meter, it immediately started chattering. And that’s never a good sign. The boilers began dropping offline, refusing to start. We double-checked every gas line, verified boiler regulators, and confirmed outlet pressures. Everything downstream checked out. All signs pointed right back to that brand new regulator. So the fix wasn’t tuning, it was replacement. And the data made the case. A regulator’s job is steady pressure, quiet, stable fuel delivery. If it chatters and takes boilers down, It’s not doing its job. Frank .net

In this quick segment, we’re looking at how a fluid power actuator controls steam flow using a diaphragm or piston, spring, stem, and positioner. We’ll also cover the high-level, safety-focused approach that qualified personnel follow to isolate, verify, replace, and test a steam control valve and actuator. Always, follow site procedures and codes.
