UBC Formula Electric

UBC Formula Electric We are a student engineering team that designs, builds, tests, and races an electric car to compete in the annual Formula SAE Electric competition.

UBC Formula Electric is an engineering design team that provides students across all faculties with opportunities to tackle real-world issues surrounding the design and adoption of electric vehicles. Our primary goal involves designing, building, and testing a single-seat formula-style race car to compete in the annual Formula SAE Electric competition against universities from across the globe. The competition is a test of both engineering ability and team organisation.

Massive thanks to QIDI Tech for supporting our team with the QIDI Q2 3D Printer. This machine has become a key tool in our design process, helping us rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine components for our electric race car.

The QIDI Q2 is a high-speed, fully enclosed CoreXY 3D printer featuring a 270x270x256mm build volume and designed for advanced, engineering-grade materials. It offers up to 600mm/s print speeds, a 370 degrees celsisus hotend, 65 degrees celsisus active chamber heating, and a 1080p camera with AI failure detection.

If you want to 3D print faster and smarter check out their website for more info: https://ca.qidi3d.com/

We’re incredibly grateful for QIDI’s support in empowering student-led engineering and innovation. 🔧

Huge thanks to Chitu for sponsoring UBC Formula Electric! ⚡️ Their Chitu Systems FilaPartner E1 filament dryer is tremendously helpful as we undergo manufacturing this February, helping us turn our designs into reality.

The Chitu Systems FilaPartner E1 is a modular, high-capacity filament dryer that can dry and store up to four 1kg spools of 3d printing filament simultaneously, featuring two independently controlled, stackable chambers. Using dual 120W PTC heaters, it reaches temperatures up to 70 degrees celsius for materials like PLA, PETG, and ABS, with a 4-inch touch screen for monitoring and control.

Their high-performance 3d printing technology helps power innovation on and off the track. Thanks for being a part of our journey! 🏎️⚡️
