PROJECT / Standardized Housing Project
British Columbia
2024
Developed for the Province of British Columbia, the Standardized Housing Project is a catalogue of adaptable residential building systems designed to support new forms of small-scale, multi-unit housing. Conceived as a flexible kit-of-parts, the project combines standardized components with interchangeable floor plans to accommodate a wide range of site conditions, densities, and modes of living — from duplexes and laneway homes to townhomes and larger multi-unit configurations.
The project looks at housing as both infrastructure and architecture: balancing efficiency, repeatability, and construction logic with spatial generosity, material expression, and adaptability over time. Through a component-based approach, the system aims to simplify delivery while creating resilient, high-quality housing that can evolve with communities and changing patterns of occupation.
