The solar panels are on the roof, marking the start of installation for our latest solar energy plant located in Masset, Haida Gwaii.

Today our crew lifted solar energy panels on to a roof in Masset, Haida Gwaii. This solar energy system will be connected to a grid that is primarily powered by burning diesel fuel.

Some good news. BC has banned door-to-door solar sales. These high pressure tactics have given solar energy a bad name in parts of the U.S. and we were starting to see that happen here as well.

VREC has no commissioned sales people. Only well trained solar advisors who provide credible solutions to homeowners and businesses We have averaged double digit revenue growth over 20 years primarily based on referrals and reputation.

New consumer-protection rules will make prohibited door-to-door solar contracts unenforceable and restrict seller-arranged financing.

We are currently installing a 160 kW photovoltaic system at Science World in Vancouver. It is part of a larger energy efficiency project led by SES Consulting. The Tyee has a great video profile of this project. Link here:

We have started a large commercial solar energy installation in Vancouver.
Now is a ideal time for solar energy and battery installations on commercial buildings. There are rebates of up to $50,000 from BC Hydro and refundable tax credits of up to 30% from the federal government (and unlike some other installers our installations qualify for the full 30%). And if you don't have the capital you can install it with no upfront costs through a PPA and still save money on your electricity.
