This multi-phase project restored and rejuvenated the community facility at the heart of the community in Fraser Lake.

Building on our Phase 1 transformation—which turned our sand-base curling rink into a year-round community hall—this final phase fully equips our space to welcome visitors and host truly unforgettable events with a compelling new lobby addition, new washrooms and changerooms and a new kitchen.

We’ve been so busy growing and tackling new projects that we realized we never officially introduced you to some of the incredible faces behind the scenes. Some of these folks have been part of the family for over a year, but they deserve their moment in the spotlight!

Help us officially welcome these soon-to-be Architects:

Alexis Almacin: Joined in 2024 with a background in software development, inspired by the integration of architecture and technology and its potential to grow sustainable building practices. Also loves to sketch and listen to music.

Shadi Shahed: A detail-oriented intern architect passionate about sustainable design, backed by WELL AP and LEED Green Associate credentials, Shadi has been with us since 2024.

Kevin Hong: Since 2025 at MIZA, he's passionate about thoughtful design, mountain landscapes, and keeping at least one plant alive at all times.

Rémi Landry Yuan: Our most recent addition, dedicated to supporting culture and community in Vancouver’s Chinatown through engagement and grassroots organizing.

Breaking ground soon! 🚧 We are thrilled to announce that construction is about to begin on a special addition to the White Rock Fire Hall.

We’ve designed a dedicated pavilion to house and display the department's cherished antique fire truck. The design is intentionally simple, acting as a "jewel box" for the history inside. We took our cues from the existing Fire Hall, integrating a red-brick motif and a reinterpretated brise soleil to ensure the new structure feels right at home next to the main building.

We can’t wait to see this piece of local history get the permanent home it deserves. Stay tuned for site updates!

The Inlet Park Fieldhouse is a pilot project for the future, achieving multiple top-tier certifications for the City of Port Moody:

Dual Certification: Targeting LEED Gold & Passive House Classic.

Zero Carbon Ready: Fully electric and on track for the highest BC Energy and Zero Carbon Step Codes.

Accessible: Achieving Rick Hansen Foundation Gold Certification, going beyond the minimum.

We used a Mass Timber hybrid structure for low-carbon design, high-performance mechanical systems, and a PV solar system to offset approx. 30% of the building’s energy use. This is architecture that takes environmental and social stewardship seriously!

Proud to showcase Inlet Park Fieldhouse: Port Moody's New Community Hub. Construction starting soon! 🏗️

The compact, three-level design maximizes functionality. It provides ground-level sports changerooms (inclusive showers) and public washrooms, a second-level multi-purpose event room (capacity 200) with a warming kitchen, and third-level City offices alongside a viewing deck with panoramic field and inlet views. The west stair will feature public art that accompanies users on the path up through the building to the multi-purpose room and viewing deck.

More to come on the project's ambitious environmental sustainability targets and technical acheivements.
