SCR wants to take a moment to recognize the outstanding efforts and dedication of our shop team over the past several months.

The shop has faced an exceptional workload, from complete and partial equipment rebuilds to preparing equipment for deployment, onboarding new team members, and adapting to an ever-changing list of standby requests. Through it all, you have remained focused, professional, and committed to delivering the best results possible.

While not every challenge has been within our control, you have consistently controlled what you could: your attitude, your teamwork, your workmanship, and your commitment to getting the job done safely and efficiently.

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illness.

Whether you're working underground, in the shop, on surface, or spending time outdoors, taking precautions against the heat is essential. Heat stress can lead to dehydration, fatigue, reduced concentration, and serious health risks if left unchecked.

This summer, remember the H.E.A.T. Principle:

H – Hydrate: Drink water regularly throughout the day and replenish electrolytes during long or physically demanding shifts.

E – Evaluate: Know the signs of heat stress, including dizziness, headaches, excessive sweating, muscle cramps, and confusion.

A – Adjust: Take breaks in shaded or cool areas and pace yourself during the hottest parts of the day.

T – Team Up: Look out for your coworkers and speak up if someone appears to be affected by the heat.

A safe workplace starts with looking after yourself and each other. Stay alert, stay hydrated, and stay safe.

With a strong mix of leadership, field experience, training expertise, and hands-on support, Richard, Andre, Dan, Lisa, Mike, and Roger each play an important role in helping our workforce work safely, grow confidently, and return home safely at the end of every shift.
