Parking garage restoration project.

Full rehabilitation of podium deck at 2050 Bridletown Circle. Wholesale removal and replacement of garage roof slab overburden and waterproofing (70,000 sq ft), including supply and install of full new landscaping as designed by landscape architect. Replacement of buried expansion joint within the work area. Also, completion of localized structural concrete repairs, upgrades to drainage system and painting.

The restoration of Mirvish Village is one of the most significant heritage-conservation projects in recent Toronto redevelopment. The goal of this redevelopment was not simply to replace the old buildings with towers but to preserve the area’s cultural identity while adding housing, retail, and public spaces.

Here are some before and after photos of the historical facades restored by HRI. Scope of work included salvage, demo, retention, masonry repairs, roofing, windows, access scaffolding, excavation, wood working, painting, underpinning, concrete works, framing, insulation, structural steel.

10 Dawes Road was originally a late-1800s industrial milling site tied to the East Toronto Milling and later Chalmers Milling companies. Its grain elevator and mill buildings became rare surviving examples of East Toronto’s industrial history and were later used for arts/community space, including the Silver Mill Gallery.

Today, the property is being redeveloped as “The Dawes,” a large mixed-use condo project near Main Street Station, while preserving parts of the historic mill structures. The HRI Group is involved in the redevelopment process.

* Paint removal (scrape to sound paint or 100% removal)

The Simcoe St. Parkade is one of the City of Peterborough’s municipal parking facilities. HRI completed structural concrete repairs and localized thin system waterproofing replacement throughout the multi level pre-cast parking garage. Various other misc. repairs including replacing expansion joints, crack injection, sealant repair, stairwell upgrades etc., were also completed.
