We are extremely heartbroken to announce that Samson, our Chief Pawperations Officer, has passed away.

Samson was a fixture for our company. He inspired us to be the best possible versions of ourselves.

He would spend many hours with us on the road, meeting with clients, assisting with installations, and spreading awareness. His mission was simple: to make every space a safe space.

He will be missed. He is missed.

Samson, you can stand down. We’ll take it from here.

This week, we are under a heat warning issued by Environment Canada. The expected forecast can cause many heat-related illnesses in humans and pets. There are not too many things that shock us anymore. We see a lot of 'professional' installations by some large, national companies who do not specialize in alarms (and their contractors). Most of which are sloppy and nowhere near the standard that Alarmtech provides.

On our first , we find not one, not two, but THREE splice points to power the previous control panel. In the basement, there is the transformer which is spliced with the cat5 cable, which is then spliced with 22/4 quad, which is spliced again to the male end cable for the keypad... with electrical tape. The questions is why...

Needless to say, we removed the dangerous splice points when we installed their new equipment. This is not professional. We are.

Today, we celebrate Sue's [redacted] Birthday! Sue worked with Alarmtech before I (Stephen) joined the company. Learning how to do my job in real-time was difficult; however, Sue made it easy. She is a wealth of knowledge, especially since she has been in the industry for [redacted] years. I am extremely fortunate to have worked along side her.

Not only did she coordinate service, help the technicians in-field, program systems on antiquated software that outdates me, she spent every day working hard to deliver exceptional customer care. She currently uses her skills at Damar in their Customer Excellence department.

Sue has a book of cheat sheets for working on / diagnosing MANY systems. I hope she shares it with me before her pending retirement! 😄

Sue and I only have two photos together, and I do not think either would have her approval. So instead, we have a photo of Sue hard at work... or winning radio contests! 😉
