For over a decade, we have complemented our traditional restoration and casting methods with a variety of scanning methods and rapid prototype printing.
Here, we are scanning this skull to digitally save and protect it on our secure encrypted RCI Digital asset management servers. These scans are capable of fabricating highly accurate and complete skeletal reconstructions of any size and complexity. Because of this, secure storage, file provenance and verification is of the utmost importance when a client's original file has so many potential uses.
Additionally, we can enlarge, reduce, mirror, or ‘correct’ geological distortions of fossil specimens and digitally sculpt missing components for both digital and physical exhibitions at any scale. Our familiarity with museum conservation procedures and protocol ensure confidence in our expertise in handling museum specimens and artifacts while adhering to aspects of ISO 27001 digital security protocols.
