Another front entry transformation from summer 2023. The original front entry was dated and lacked the functionality and flow that this space could provide. Also, the only access to the septic lids were buried underneath the old walkway, which was less than ideal. The new walkway was configured to avoid covering the lids and was redesigned to avoid the septic tank altogether. Square decorative boxes were built to be placed over top of the lids for easier access when required. Planters will be placed on top to add a unique, colorful and vertical feature to welcome quests. New gardens were planted around
the new entry area to soften the rigid lines of the walkway. The original Japanese Maple remained and was pruned to reshape, thin out and rejuvenate, as it was performing beautifully in this area of the garden.

Products selected for this project were Techo-Bloc’s Blu 60mm Modular Slabs (color: Slate Grey)

A deck stair landing project from Summer 2023. The client expressed the need for a clean, simple but aesthetically pleasing IC Paver landing of both sides of their back deck steps for easier access to their utility shed and parking pad on the opposite side. We also cleaned up the look of the space underneath the deck with a decorative riverstone ground treatment and concrete curbing to keep things in place.

The concrete paving products used for this build were selected to match the products used in the front yard 2 years prior, which harmonized all of the front and back yard hardscape features beautifully!

Featured here is the timeless classic – ‘Brussels Block’ Pavers (color: Mahogony Ash) with ‘Town Hall’ Paver (color: Old Oak) for the border accent. The curbing was constructed using Brussels Dimensional Stone Wall units (color: Mahogony Ash)

Today we’re sharing this front entry step project from early Summer 2023. What a difference from the original stamped concrete steps!

Here we added an additional step to the design to decrease the slope of the original walkway, which was a safety concern for the client. The addition of a custom modern style metal railing finished these simple steps off nicely. Now they have a safer, and more functional and beautiful step to their front entry!

Products used for this build featured OAKS - Nueva 150 Wall (colour: Champayne) and 150 Coping units (colour: Onyx) Walkway products feature the Nueva 60mm Modular Slabs (colour: Champayne)

The railing was designed and installed by Eastern Design Windows and Doors.

Revisiting a back yard landscape renovation project we completed in June 2022. What a difference a year makes as all the plant material matures and softens the ridged edges of the vertical and horizontal lines of structures and hardscape surfaces.

Throughout this endeavor we worked closely with the client to transform this once pool filled back yard into a tranquil outdoor space for them to relax, hobby garden, glide on their antique “glider bench” or enjoy harvesting fresh vegetables form their very own container gardens. They have done a wonderful job maintaining their new paradise!

Our scope of work included design and implementation of the back yard patio area, raised swing pad and patio planting, grading and Sod installation. All other existing gardens were re- shaped and edged for the clients to complete some of their own plant selections and planting. The end result was so gratifying to see for all of us!

Products used on this project were: UNILOCK’s Umbriano 60mm Slabs, color: Summer Wheat. & Pisa II Retaining Wall units for the raised swing structure.
