Yellowhead Road and Bridge is seeking reliable, safety-minded Winter Plow Truck Operators to join our team for the upcoming winter season. In this role you will be responsible for clearing snow and managing ice conditions to ensure safe travel on assigned routes and highways. Because weather is unpredictable, this position requires a high level of flexibility and the readiness to respond to on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate and drive heavy vehicles equipped with snowplows, sanding units, and liquid/solid salting equipment.
Winter Maintenance:
Perform efficient snow plowing, sanding, and salting operations on designated number routes and side roads during winter weather events.
Pre/Post-Trip Inspections:
Conduct thorough daily vehicle and equipment inspections (fluid levels, lights, brakes, plow blades, spreaders) and report any maintenance defects immediately.
Safety & Compliance:
Strictly adhere to all local traffic laws, commercial vehicle regulations, and corporate safety policies while working in severe weather and low-visibility conditions.
Class 1 or 3 is required.
