Location: Royal York Road/Edgehill Road, Etobicoke

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, suspicious activity occurred at an Etobicoke residence involving masked individuals approaching the property.

Avante’s HALO AI recognized the incident in progress and alerted the Avante Control Centre (ACC). Our team immediately spoke to the subjects through live two-way audio, and the individuals fled the property.

Toronto Police Service and an Avante Operative were dispatched. Avante and TPS arrived in under four minutes.

The scoreboard didn't go our way, but spending an evening at Rogers Centre with the Avante team was still a win.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the tragic shooting at this year's Salsa on St. Clair Festival.

What should have been a celebration of music, culture, family, and community became the scene of an unimaginable act of violence. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives, and we are thinking of everyone who was injured or traumatized by this heartbreaking event.

We also want to recognize the courage and professionalism of the first responders, medical teams, and volunteers who acted quickly under extremely difficult circumstances.

Toronto's strength has always been found in its communities. May we continue to stand together, support one another, and honour the resilience of everyone affected.
