July reality check for GTA homeowners🏡🦝

Those baby raccoons and squirrels born back in April? They're fully grown, super active, and officially exploring with mom!

Right now, we're seeing a big surge in animals trying to force their way into attics and under decks to escape the summer heat and sudden rainstorms. Plastic roof vents and weak soffits don't stand a chance against a persistent mama raccoon.

3 warning signs your roof might be compromised:

1️⃣ Heavy thumping or scratching in the ceiling at night.

2️⃣ Bent, chewed, or loose roof vents/soffits.

3️⃣ Animals consistently hanging around your roofline or deck.

Don't wait until a storm turns a tiny opening into a costly leak. We offer humane exclusion and heavy-duty steel proofing to keep wildlife out for good 🛠️

🐾 Mission Accomplished: A Family Reunited

The pitter-patter in the attic turned out to be a full house! Today I safely removed a mama raccoon and her four newborns, only a few days old, from a customer's attic.
Instead of a stressful relocation, we used a humane reunion strategy. We placed the babies in a heated "reunion box" on the roof to keep them warm and protected. This gives Mama the chance to come back and move them on her own terms.

The Update: The customer’s camera confirmed that Mama is already back in the box, caring for her kits! Over the next few hours, she’ll pick them up one by one and transport them to a secondary den site she already has scouted out.

Safe, professional, and mama-approved. 🦝✨

Spring 2026 is officially here! 🌸 🦝

We just pulled the first raccoon family of the season out of this cozy attic. Mom found a warm spot to nest, but it was time for them to move on. These little kits are the first of many we’ll likely see this month.
Remember: If you hear scratching or “chattering” in your attic, it might be more than just the wind!

🦝 January Thaw = Raccoon Romance (and Potential Intruders!)

Notice more activity in your backyard or on your roof during this warm spell? You’re not imagining it!
While raccoons usually lay low in the winter, a January warming trend triggers their mating season. Male raccoons become highly active, traveling long distances to find mates. More importantly for homeowners, pregnant females are now scout-hunting for a safe, warm place to have their babies this spring.
Why this matters for your home:
New Entry Points: Raccoons are stronger than they look and will rip through shingles or soffits to reach a warm attic.
Increased Noise: You might hear "blood-curdling" screams or chattering—often just the sounds of mating rituals, but a sign they are too close for comfort.
The Baby Boom: A raccoon in your attic in January means a litter of babies in March. It is much easier (and cheaper!) to secure your home now before the kits arrive.
Don't wait for the pitter-patter of little paws!
If you hear noises in your attic or see raccoons loitering near your roofline, give Liddle Rascal’s Wildlife Control a call. We specialize in humane removal and professional "Raccoon-Proofing" to keep your home critter-free all year long.
