✨Last Friday, the Snyder Architects team came together for our summer BBQ! It’s a great moment for us to connect, recharge, and enjoy time together outside the studio.

Beyond the work we do, it’s the relationships we build that shape our culture and strengthen the way we collaborate. We’re always grateful for opportunities like these to bring our team together and celebrate the people behind our projects.

A great afternoon with the Snyder team. ☀️

Last week, we celebrated the grand opening of MBQ’s new LTC - the Tsi Thonwatíhsnye’s Elder Care Home in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.[https://www.mbqltc.ca/]
Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte

As Ontario’s largest on-reserve long-term care home, this 95,000-square-foot facility will provide 128 Elders with high-quality care rooted in culture, community, and connection.

This project has been years in the making, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the home officially open and be so warmly embraced by both the community and the long-term care sector.

As Honourable Gregor Robertson , Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, noted during the ceremony:
“The opening of Tsi Thonwatíhsnye’s Elder Care Home paves a path for the expansion of quality care infrastructure and long-term care home standards. This facility will provide safety, support, dignity, and cultural connection back to those who continue to care for our communities.”

Throughout the ceremony, a common theme emerged from the speakers and conversations among attendees: this project is a powerful example of what can be achieved through partnership.
Bringing a project of this scale and significance to life required the vision, commitment, and collaboration of many levels of government and organizations working toward a shared goal - creating a home where Elders can remain connected to their families, traditions, language, and community while receiving the care they deserve.

We are grateful to have been part of the team that helped bring this vision to life:

We are proud to share that St. Fidelis Catholic Elementary School has been featured in the latest issue of Award Magazine.
Designed as a replacement school for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the new 70,000 sq. ft. facility supports 648 students and includes a three-room licensed childcare centre. The project reflects Snyder Architects’ continued commitment to student-centred learning environments, with flexible collaboration spaces, learning commons, a naturally lit double-storey atrium, a multi-use program space, green roofs, and high-performance sustainable building systems.

As Principal Avinash Garde noted, Snyder Architects aimed to create a school rich in 21st-century learning features, which perfectly aligned with our expertise in student-centered design. The project honors this long-standing partnership with a focus on natural light, flexible programming, durable materials, and spaces designed to adapt to evolving teaching methods.
