In the spirit of many Canadian artists, I am a painter who is passionate about creating a unique, contemporary expression of light, colour, shape and texture. I am inspired by the sense of balance and design I discover in creation and I am intrigued by the seemingly infinite variety of lines, spaces, shapes and vibrant colours I discover there. My method is to take several photographs of a subject

, after which I return to my studio to transform the scene into an abstracted and transfigured composition. I want the viewer to be excited by the textures, colours and shapes in my paintings. To create varied surfaces, I often use a mix of natural and created materials, including modelling paste, gels, silica sand, and photo and stencil inserts with acrylic or oil paint. More than a love of colour and a passion for design, my paintings embrace a sense of spirituality. The concept of ‘flourishing’ and what it means to thrive in life is a prominent theme in my artwork - contemporary artwork for a transfigured state of being.

When you buy from an independent artist, the money doesn't disappear into a warehouse somewhere; it goes directly toward more work getting made.

That's the whole engine. Choosing "Georgian Bay Rockface" isn't just a decorating decision, it's a vote for more art to exist.

Embark on a surreal odyssey through "De Rochefort à Surgères à travers les nuages," a mesmerizing tapestry where earth and sky converge in a dance of radiant transformation. The interplay of majestic clouds and verdant fields births an ethereal vista, a window into a hidden world where the ordinary transcends into the extraordinary. Behold a cloud bank, sculpted in vivid strokes of purple and gold, exalting the brilliance of sunlight's tender embrace. Its angular contours mirror the mystic rhythm of nature's heartbeat, pulsating through realms unseen.

Above, the firmament unfolds in a symphony of azure and saffron, where lines weave stories of ancient winds and whispering breezes. This celestial canvas resonates with electric vigour as if the sky itself holds secrets untold and mysteries to be unravelled. The corridors of blue and yellow sing an ethereal melody, a hymn to the infinite dance of cosmic harmony.

Anchoring this celestial wonder, the lush green fields stand resilient and majestic, cradling trees of timeless grace—each a guardian of the serene tapestry below. Their geometric motifs create a visual sonnet of depth and contrast, grounding the heavens' ethereal ballet in the soothing balm of earthly peace.

"De Rochefort à Surgères à travers les nuages" invites you into a realm where nature's essence bursts forth in vibrant expression, each shade and contour a portal to worlds beyond reach. This abstract reverie captures the perpetual flux between what is seen and what remains a whisper on the edge of perception, forever inviting you to traverse its mysteries and contemplate the divine intricacy of our shared landscape.

💡 Practical design tip: Lighting changes everything about how art reads in a room.

Natural light shifts color temperature throughout the day, and most lamps cast warmer or cooler tones than you'd expect.

When you grab "Birch Forest", spend some time thinking about the lighting to accompany it.

What type of lighting do you think would work best?
