With Audax curating both the architecture and interior design of 1 Marlborough, we designed the penthouse to offer a residential experience unlike anything Toronto has seen before. Defined by grand proportions, soaring double-height spaces, and expansive arched window bays framing unparalleled views of the downtown skyline, the residence sets a new standard for luxury living in the city.

After years of thinking, designing, questioning, and writing, we’re excited to finally introduce Human Architecture.

Written by Audax founder Gianpiero Pugliese, Human Architecture explores a simple but important idea: that beauty is objective.

Across cultures, centuries, and architectural styles, certain principles continue to shape the places we find beautiful, meaningful, and deeply human. This book brings those principles together into a framework for creating architecture that responds not to trends or ideology, but to the way people naturally experience the built environment.

This is the philosophy that has shaped our work at Audax—and now, for the first time, it’s a book.

Human Architecture is now available for pre-order. Visit the link in our bio to reserve your copy.

The difference between a good space and an exceptional one often comes down to details.

The craftsmanship of a hand-finished surface. The precision of a material transition. The balance between light, proportion, and texture.

These are the elements that quietly shape how a space is experienced and remembered.

At Audax, we obsess over these moments because timeless architecture is not only designed in the large gestures—it is refined in the details.

Some of the best moments at home happen outdoors—sharing a meal with family, lingering over conversation, or simply enjoying a warm summer evening.

This project, featured in House & Home, reflects our belief that outdoor spaces should feel like a natural continuation of the home—not an afterthought. Here, the terrace extends the architecture into the landscape, creating a place that's equally suited for entertaining, relaxing, and everyday living.

Because the best homes don't end at the back door—they embrace every season and every moment.
