As summer approaches its end, our family continues a beloved tradition: making tomato sauce using the finest San Marzano tomatoes. 🌱 These tomatoes, known for their distinctively pointed shape and thicker flesh, offer a stronger, sweeter flavor with fewer seeds compared to Roma tomatoes.
This year, we processed five bushels, resulting in a bountiful 124 jars of sauce. At the end of our canning session, we always set aside a pot of fresh sauce to enjoy with pasta for dinner, allowing us to savor the flavors and compare them to those from previous years.
Another successful year in the books, and we look forward to continuing this cherished tradition for generations to come.
