Do you know 5 types of drywall? If you are planning on a home renovation or DIYers, it's good keep them in mind.
1. Standard drywall
No special features but it's the most common type. It's suitable for walls, ceilings and finishing basements.
2. Green drywall
This is mold resistant and used in moist or humid areas. Good for bathrooms and kitchens.
3. Purple drywall
This resists moisture and good for bathrooms, basements, laundry rooms etc., Also, it resists scratches and dents so it's a good option for high-traffic areas too.
4. Fire-resistant drywall
This is not fireproof but prevents the spread and speed of fire. It's ideally used in utility rooms, garage and around stoves.
5. Soundproof drywall
This reduces noise travelling from one room to the another.
