Spring has arrived early at the Fendi store in Yorkdale Mall, with the display our team has installed to promote the SS2020 collection. While February is still providing some wintery days, this display provides a pop of colour for Yorkdale shoppers, reminding us that Spring is not too far away. This week for our TBT post we would like to look at another piece from Canada’s very own Drake! The song is “I’m Upset” shot in 2018 at Degrassi High. Here you can see a flashback to Drake's acting days for the Toronto show Degrassi, and a numerous amount of cameos from his former co-stars. The contributions by Performance Solutions you can notice in this video is the use of the confetti, the fake vomit and the grand finale – where Degrassi High went up in flames.

The vomit was made using a rig to simulate puking, while qualified pyrotechnicians produced flame effects, with the editing of smoke machines to complete the video. Check it out above!

Our promotion for the Trius Winery returned last December, but the public didn’t have to travel all the way Niagara to see it! Our most recent design for Trius Winery could be found at your local LCBO. The promotion was made available at Queens Quay, Royal York & Bloor, Eglinton and Laird LCBO locations.

Performance Solutions team designed and installed Three bubble chairs to promote the sparkling wine made in house at the Trius Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, also offering customers samples of this wine at the mentioned LCBO locations. The public can still see these chairs at the Wine Store in Square One, Mississauga, with the other two chairs now located at the Trius Winery.

Circa 15 years ago, Performance Solutions had the chance of working with legendary rock band . We produced the flames utilising propane flame projectors fabricated for the show. This was filmed in the GTA for the film Detroit Rock City, which highlights the story of four teenage boys that were apart of a Kiss tribute band that went to try and see the band live in Detroit in 1978. Last year, families from across Canada have put their hat in the race to be aired on Canada's version of Family Feud hosted by Canadian actor Gerry Dee, which debuted on CBC December 16.

Performance Solutions was joining in the game by building a replica of the original set of the show for promotion. This displayed at Sherway Gardens Mall and Etobicoke in Toronto. Displayed above, at Sherway Gardens potential shoppers could take part in a mock game of the show, which was moderated by a brand ambassador from CBC.

Another set was built, but it was sent to Vancouver, Edmonton and Moncton for the public to view out West and out East.

One of the many movies that got claps from the critics was “Dolemite is My Name”. It was based on the life of musician/comedian Rudy Ray Moore and his character Dolemite was portrayed by none other than Eddie Murphy. Performance Solutions was thrilled to be part of the promotion of this movie when the crew gathered for the talk show hosted by Manhattan Place Entertainment and Netflix. The set design idea was conceived by the production team of Manhattan which was meticulously executed by yours truly. The half circular table was used with the idea to frame each of the characters who played a vital role in this movie. The cast involved in this promotion (from left to right) include Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, Wesley Snipes, Eddie Murphy, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Tituss Burgess and Keegan-Michael Key.

Last week the Impaired sign made it's second debut for Torontonians, this time in Nathan Phillips Square reminding drivers not to drive high. The sign was brought back to commemorate the National Teen Driver Safety Week that took place from October 20 to 26, intended to raise awareness for drivers to know about the dangers of driving impaired. We originally designed and built this sign for tech firm Mass Minority for display at the CNE this past summer.

Have you checked the new prints On’? Last week, the iconic luxury fashion brand launched its capsule collection at Holt Renfrew, Yorkdale ft. Nicki Minaj. Minaj worked with Silvia Venturini Fendi and the design team to create a collection that reflects both Minaj's bold signature style and FENDI's playful identity. Performance Solutions is excited to take part in the launch event by installing an infinity mirror pop-up right by the Fendi@Holt Renfrew store for shoppers to capture an Instagrammable moment. Hurry if you have not dropped by yet as it is ending on Oct 30.
