Most people assume modernizing a staircase means starting from scratch. It doesn't.

The treads here were capped, not replaced. The wainscoting was there, but new wide-plank hardwood running consistently through the whole main floor, walls opened up, a fireplace surround and hearth brought up to date, hardware swapped, built-ins repainted, and suddenly everything reads as intentional.

That's the work. Not demolition. Knowing which decisions to make, and making them in a way that pulls the whole floor together.

This is what a powder room looks like when you stop treating it like an afterthought.

We live here. We work here. We've been a part of these neighbourhoods since 2007.

Toronto homes have stories built into them. Century semis in Riverdale with settled floors and hand plaster. Post-war bungalows in Leaside carrying decades of additions. The stately homes of Rosedale. Downtown row houses where every inch counts and no wall is quite where the drawings say it should be.

Understanding those homes takes more than a set of tools. It takes years of working in these neighbourhoods, knowing how the city's older housing stock behaves, and knowing the people who live in it. Our team shops at the same grocery stores, sends kids to the same schools, and sits in the same traffic as the families we build for.

That connection shapes how we work. We respect the home, we respect the street, and we respect the neighbourhood.
