Ex*****on looks a little different in Northern Ontario. 🚧🌲

When the meeting room becomes the job site and the backdrop is endless rock, trees, and sky, you know you're in for a good day.

This week, the teams from .Next, Zgemi, and Red Studio traded desks for hard hats as we headed north to see progress firsthand, solve challenges in real time, and keep the momentum moving forward.

One of the best parts of being on site? The collaboration. The conversations that happen between drawings and reality. The shared commitment to getting the details right. And, of course, the occasional debate about whose boots are putting in the most work.

Projects aren't built by one team—they're built through partnerships.

This month, we're stepping behind the drawings and onto the job site to explore what it takes to bring architecture to life. From site reviews and contractor coordination to material mock-ups and problem-solving in real time, Ex*****on celebrates the people, processes, and partnerships that transform vision into reality.

Through their “No-Wall House” concept, boundaries dissolve. Storage systems transform into structure, guiding movement, framing views, and shaping how space is experienced. Walls disappear, replaced by a fluid sequence of environments that evolve with how we live.

At Salone del Mobile, Moooi celebrated 25 years not with a retrospective, but with an immersive world of its own making.

Stepping into the installation felt like entering a layered narrative, where lighting, textiles, objects, and storytelling converge into a fully realized atmosphere. Familiar pieces were recontextualized, new works introduced, and everything was experienced not in isolation, but as part of a living environment.

What makes Moooi’s approach so compelling is its ability to evoke emotion. Bold, unexpected, and deeply expressive, the experience blurs the line between design and imagination — inviting you to feel as much as you see.

At EuroCucina 2026, the kitchen becomes more than a functional space. It becomes an immersive environment.

At Salone del Mobile, we experienced kitchens not as rooms, but as living systems. Materials, technology, and form come together to shape how we gather, cook, connect, and slow down. Boundaries soften. The kitchen extends into living spaces, into social spaces — into everyday life.

What stood out was the sensory experience:
the tactility of surfaces, the warmth of integrated lighting, the quiet precision of concealed systems. Every detail designed not just for performance, but for feeling.

Alcova is where discovery happens in real time.

Wandering through its layered spaces, you’re constantly shifting between past and future. Thie historic structures meeting experimental materials, emerging designers positioned alongside established voices. Nothing feels overly curated. Everything feels found.

It’s this sense of unpredictability that defines the experience. You turn a corner and encounter something unexpected. A new material, a new process, a new way of thinking about space.

As wellness architects, we value this kind of exploration. It challenges us to stay open, to question assumptions, and to see how innovation can emerge from contrast — from tension between old and new, raw and refined.
