Specifying a solar facade means being able to answer one question with confidence: how much power will this actually produce?

We break down how accurate energy modelling works for BIPV, from module-level performance data to real project validation. At the Myron and Berna Garron Health Sciences Complex (SAMIH) at the University of Toronto Scarborough, a 516 kW facade system combined with a 119 kW rooftop system for a total of 636 kW, generating roughly 437,813 kWh annually. The Mitrex Simulator uses the same modelling approach to help engineers and consultants forecast output and returns before specifying.

The Solis in Jersey City is the first building of its kind in the city, a new-build rental development combining brick and composite cladding with a fully integrated 50 kW Mitrex solar facade.

Designed by Integra Consultants, the project uses Mitrex's CladiShield rainscreen system across an 8,000 SQFT facade, supplementing the building's energy demands with clean, on-site power without compromising the architectural finish.
