The best semi-transparent stain has to be Cutek hands down.

I’ve tried so many different stains over the years, stripped decks with all kinds of different stains and nothing lasts as long or is as easy to work with than Cutek Extreme.

We did double espresso (2 tints per gallon) on this deck. The wood is protected longer than any other stain from UV and water. And maintenance is easy down the line.
