Once again, to all Kia owners: Kia keys can sometimes take a few tries to get the correct one working. Some of the part numbers listed for these keys arenā€™t always accurate.

OEM keys can actually cause more issues in some cases. With a universal key, I can program it using the correct software and data for the vehicle. But if an OEM key has the wrong part number or FCC ID, there isnā€™t much I can doā€”you may have to come back for the correct key. and FYI kia make over 100 different types of key that why it issue there only company that had 100 of FCC ID

This week, Kia vehicles have been giving me the most issues. There are so many damn part numbers. The second one I did today had a remote that wouldnā€™t work, the transponder was wrong, or it was simply the wrong key. The FCC IDs are also wrong on half of these keys.

Kia OEM keys are going up to $160 now. If you go with a universal key, itā€™s $120. But if you want a genuine OEM Kia key, itā€™s $160 now.

šŸšØ **IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS** šŸšØ

Starting **September 1st**, Autel is introducing NASTF Secure Data Release Model (SDRM) requirements for the **KM100** and, in later phases, other Autel IMMO/key-programming tools.

This means professional locksmiths performing certain security-related key programming functions will need an active **NASTF Vehicle Security Professional (VSP)** account. The registration also requires business documentation and commercial liability insurance.

This adds a significant cost and additional requirements for locksmiths. NASTF currently lists the VSP Primary account at **$435 for 2 years**, along with required insurance coverage.

Because of these new industry requirements and the additional costs involved in providing key programming services, **our prices will be increasing after September 1st.**

We wanted to give everyone a heads-up before the change takes effect. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of our small business. šŸ™šŸ”‘
