🔥 A burning smell from a dryer should never be ignored.

We were called in after the customer noticed a burning smell from the dryer. The vent system required attention from our duct-cleaning partners because of a possible fire hazard.

After the duct was cleaned, we completed a full dryer diagnostic and safety check — inspecting the dryer, vent connection, installation and airflow before putting everything back together.

Dryers create heat. Restricted airflow + lint buildup can become dangerous.

If your dryer:

* smells like it’s burning
* takes too long to dry
* gets unusually hot
* has weak airflow

…it’s worth having it checked.

During a professional washing machine inspection and service, we check the components you normally never see — because small problems can eventually turn into leaks, drainage issues, strange noises, or an expensive repair.

If your washer is:

* making unusual noises
* not draining properly
* shaking or moving
* leaving clothes too wet
* leaking
* or simply doesn’t feel like it’s working the way it used to…

🚨 I need your opinion.

Imagine waking up to emails telling you to remove your business from Google... or face the consequences.

Would you ignore them?
Would you be worried?
Or would you fight back?

Over the past several weeks, we’ve received multiple emails threatening our business and demanding that we remove our Google Business Profile. The sender claimed they would report us and have our listing taken down.

Instead of assuming anything, we contacted the actual property management—and they confirmed these emails were spam and advised us to report the matter to the authorities.

As a small business, we work hard every single day to earn every customer, every review, and every recommendation. Seeing someone try to damage that is disappointing—but it won’t stop us.

Now we want to hear from you.

💬 Have you ever experienced something like this?
💬 What would you do if your business was being targeted?
💬 Do you think platforms should do more to protect small businesses from harassment?

Leave your thoughts in the comments. We’d love to hear your opinion.

🎥 This is only part of the story. Stay tuned—I’ll be releasing a video soon explaining everything that happened, showing more evidence, and sharing the full timeline. You won’t want to miss it.

Buying a used washer or dryer? 90% are sold dirty 👇

Marketplace, Kijiji, Facebook are full of «barely used» appliances — and sellers will tell you whatever it takes to close the deal. Before you hand over cash, run these three checks:

1️⃣ Peel back the door gasket and check the underside. Black mold means it’s been neglected for years.
2️⃣ Open the door and spin the drum by hand. Smooth = healthy. Wobbly or noisy = dead bearings (a $300+ repair).
3️⃣ Ask them to run a full spin cycle in front of you. If they refuse — walk away.
If a deal looks too good to be true, get a tech to check it first. We do pre-purchase inspections across the GTA for $80.

10 things that destroy your dishwasher (and themselves) 👇

I’ve seen warped cast iron, peeled non-stick coatings, and shattered crystal — all from dishwashers. The damage is on both sides: your stuff is ruined, and the residue clogs your machine.

Save this carousel. Pin it on the fridge. Tell your housemates.

If your dishwasher’s already showing wear — leaks, weird noises, dishes coming out gritty — book a diagnostic. We’re across GTA, same-day.

I’m an appliance tech. Sometimes I tell people NOT to call me 👇

If your appliance shows one of these — try yourself first:

✓ Dishwasher not draining → check the filter
✓ Washer not spinning → check the drain hose for kinks ✓ Fridge buzzing → check if it’s level and the back coil is clean
✓ Oven cooks uneven → check the door seal, elements.

Each takes 5 minutes. Saves you $80–$150 in service fees.

But call immediately if you see:
✗ Smoke or burning smell ✗ Sparks ✗ Water leaking from the body ✗ Electric shock when touching!

Unplug the appliance and call. Don’t try to fix electrical or water leak issues yourself.

New cooktop? Don’t cook on it until you read this 👇

Cooktops almost never crack from drops. They crack from two things you probably do every day without thinking: thermal shock and abrasive cleaning.

Here’s how to avoid both:

1. Skip the steel wool, scouring pads and powder cleaners — they leave micro-scratches that turn into cracks.
2. Let the surface cool down before you wipe it. A cold cloth on hot glass is exactly the shock that splits it.
3. Get a proper glass cooktop scraper (under $10) and hold it at a 45° angle.
4. Wipe spills while the glass is still warm — not scorching, not stone cold.

A cracked cooktop runs $400–$800 to replace. A scraper is $10. You do the math.

What I pulled out of dishwashers this month 👇

Cherry pits. Fruit stickers. Broken glass. Toothpicks. Even rice grains in clumps.

All of these jam the pump. The pump costs $200-$350. The 5 seconds you save by not scraping plates costs you $300.

Rule: scrape, don’t rinse. Modern dishwashers need a little soil to work — too clean and detergent foams. But chunks of food kill them.
