Another sneak peek of the house we designed in Canada ❄️ The 5BD Nordic is truly embracing those Nordic vibes — surrounded by snow, with a stunning double-height space flooded with sunlight. The kitchen is extra special too — our client added a unique twist by placing the range hood right in the center.
Huge thanks to Matt, our amazing client from Canada, for inviting us to visit his build! He took on the role of his own GC and did an incredible job.

Snow is melting, and spring is here! A huge thank you to for welcoming us into this beautiful black cabin, standing in striking contrast to the snowy landscape. Stepping inside, the warmth of both the space and the client made us feel right at home.

The stone cladding is coming together, bringing the house to life! Sourced from a local Missouri quarry, the stone has a warm, soft tone that beautifully contrasts with the black wood window trims. Can’t wait to see it all come together!

We’ve finalized the design with board-and-batten-style metal siding, adding striking vertical lines to the façade and enhancing the scale and form of the building’s massing.

One of the standout features is the dual-sided fireplace, seamlessly connecting the indoors and outdoors. The southern deck is designed for cozy gatherings, complete with an outdoor fireplace and a lush garden nearby.

Imagine waking up in the heart of the woods, with the soothing sounds of a creek whispering in your ear. This house is thoughtfully designed, with the ground floor serving as a cozy living space for an artist couple, while the upper floor is dedicated to their creative studio.

The facade facing the creek is oriented to the east, maximizing the views and natural light from the surrounding woods, mountains, and creek. The design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture.

The concept for the Serenbe Farm Residence's early design phase focused on the abstract, dividing the project into three structures that symbolize the stages of a day in life. The design process, rooted in creating abstract wood models, brought me back to my school days in the woodshop, sparking a deep appreciation for the tactile and exploratory nature of early design.

The Rest Building: This structure houses a full suite designed as a private retreat for rest and rejuvenation.

The Gathering Building: This space is centered on gathering and connection, with a formal dining area that coexists with the home’s entry, creating a welcoming atmosphere for shared meals and socializing.

The Living Building: Filled with expansive glazing to embrace natural light, this structure is dedicated to daytime activities. It features a kitchen with an eat-in breakfast nook, a cozy living room anchored by a central fireplace, and an inviting layout that fosters relaxation and interaction.

Exploring massing models for a clean, modern design that harmonizes with the landscape. This concept features two gable forms in conjunction with a glass box in the center. The intersecting rectangular volume creates a floating effect, blending dynamic shapes and elegant simplicity.

Cedar Residence is designed with energy efficiency as the main focus.

We use the WarmForm slab, a U.S. version of the Swedish slab, which provides over R-60 insulation all around the foundation. The floor features radiant heating, while the walls have a high exterior insulation value of R-33 and the roof reaches R-60.

This performance-driven design ensures the home is warm and comfortable year-round. High exterior insulation and superior slab insulation also eliminate the risk of pipe issues in winter.

Together, these elements contribute to lower energy consumption, a healthier living environment, and unmatched comfort.

One of the most exciting moments of 2024 was working with Kenny to bring this beautiful Shaker residence to life! After nearly two years of hard work, it’s amazing to see the house taking shape with all the final finishes coming together.

Kenny has poured so much craftsmanship into the siding and details, and we’ve exchanged endless texts and calls to make this dream a reality! 😂

Can’t wait for the owners to move in this spring—time to tackle that final punch list. Let’s finish strong! 💪

We’re in the final design stages of this unique project in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia! 🏔️
The home is a monolithic block design with a striking shed roof configuration. The main house roof slopes in one direction, while the garage/guest house slopes in the opposite, creating a layered butterfly roof effect that echoes the mountain ridgeline.

Designed for an artist couple, the home balances form and function, with living spaces on the ground floor and an upper-level studio for creativity. Stay tuned for more! 🎨🏡
