Job Overview

Duties

-Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
--Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering.
Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic problems.
-Repair or replace powertrain components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials to restore optimal vehicle performance.
-Execute wheel alignments to ensure vehicle safety features operate correctly.
-Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools to complete tasks safely and effectively.

Qualifications

-2 years experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
-Solid mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, steering, transmissions, electrical systems, and powertrains.
-Familiarity with automotive schematics, diagnostics software, and electronic troubleshooting techniques.
-Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair machinery.
-Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics for efficient repairs.
Strong commitment to vehicle safety standards and quality workmanship.

Valid G2 License is a must

DZ Truck Driver - Road Construction

Job description:

DeBastos & Sons is a family owned “stump-to-dump” logging contracting company with over 30 years of experience. Every year, our team and fleet of equipment produces and delivers an average of 375,000 Cubic Meters of timber products to wood mills surrounding Timmins, ON. We are seeking to add a DZ driver to our road crew.

Requirements:

- Valid DZ driver’s licence and able to provide a driver’s abstract.

- Considers road safety a top priority.

- Available to work flexible hours.

- Able to work in various weather conditions.

- Bilingual French and English an asset, but not a requirement

- Minimum 3 years of experience driving log trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive safely in various terrain (Bush Roads) and other situations.

- Communicate effectively by radio and other communication devices.

- Complete circle checks before and after delivering loads.

- Maintain a clean truck.

- Fill out log sheet.

Note: In addition to these duties, additional tasks may be given to support the objectives of the company.

We are seeking to add a Heavy Equipment Technician/Apprentice operation.
Requirements:
- Valid G driver’s license and able to provide a driver’s abstract.
- Available to work flexible hours.
- Certificate not required but experience an asset.
- Apprentices welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting, disassembling, and repairing different types of heavy equipment.
- Clean, lubricate and refuel equipment.
- Complete repair orders after every job.
Note: In addition to these duties, additional tasks may be given to support the objectives of the company.
The Location:
DeBastos & Son Ltd is based in Timmins, ON. The forest operations are in surrounding areas, therefore daily travel is necessary.
