It’s been a winter , it started late , no cold , then a ton of snow with just enough cold. Things are rolling well now but when you start late there is no making it back. With 10 km of questionable ground to freeze we had our hands full. We lost a turbo , we blew an engine along with an entire laundry list of other small issues , there’s never a dull moment but we’ve made it through the worst . The Lessons are many in this industy,. Having ran the gauntlet and completed our first 14 mths in this crazy business of logging , we will soon be ready to look at your next project . Qualified manpower shortages aren’t much fun but it’s the world we live in. Blackfield is in the hunt for a qualified log truck driver with 5+ yrs experience on logs . Lots of other misc float and filler work to keep a guy going during slower times . Summer filler work can include loader , dozer and excavator work for the qualified . I would think I had died and gone to Heaven if I can hire a driver that load himself . Over 150 loads to move with a new block being started . Bulk of the wood is currently in the Iroquois Fall and Matheson area . Same time i am collecting names of intereted brokers looking for work . please like and share rhis around .. sooner or later I’ll find myself the right joe .

It was a busy weekend putting the final touches to the wrapping up of the 2025 topsoil season . Blackfield Topsoil & Land Clearing is properly prepared for the 2026 Spring rush and we woykd like to wish everyone a great fall/ winter season. Thank you to all who supported , liked and shared our posts and we look forward to services rhe Timmins and area next season . Blackfield will continue with its forestry and land clearing operations throughout the winter season with room to take on more

Good morning, as an indigenous company Blackfield Topsoil will take a moment of silence in memory of those suffering and those who lost their lives .

A cut and paste share below 🙏

On September 30th, we will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This day is an important time to reflect on the history and lasting impacts of Canada’s residential school system, to honor the Survivors, and to remember the children who never made it home.

I invite everyone to wear orange as a visible sign of remembrance and support. The tradition comes from the story of Phyllis Webstad, a residential school Survivor who had her new orange shirt bought by her grandmother, taken on her first day at the residential school at only 6 years old. Her story has since become a powerful symbol of the loss of culture, identity, and childhood experienced by so many Indigenous children.

Beyond wearing orange, here are a few ways to support reconciliation initiatives:
Learn and reflect – Take the time to read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action or explore resources from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
Support Indigenous organizations – Consider donating to groups such as:
Orange Shirt Society – raises awareness and promotes education surrounding the impacts of residential schools.

By taking action, we not only honor the children and Survivors but also take meaningful steps toward building a future rooted in understanding, reconciliation and our commitment to do better.
